Step Velocity
Purpose
Edit the per-step velocity of the selected sequencer. Each of the 16 steps stores one of 8 row-selected velocity levels, with row 1 as the lowest setting and row 8 as the highest.
Interaction
Columns are steps (LHS = 1–8, RHS = 9–16), rows are values (row 1 bottom = lowest velocity … row 8 top = highest). Each step lights a single pad at the height of its stored value, not a bar filled from the bottom; a positioner colour marks the playing step, and columns whose step carries a trig are shaded slate behind the contour. Pressing a pad writes that row’s velocity to that step instantly. No modifier needed.
Shortcuts
| Gesture | Where | Action | Modifiers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press | LP grid | Set the step (column) to the pressed row’s velocity | none |
| SHIFT + MUTE + press row R | LP grid | Reset: all 16 steps → velocity of row R | shift+mute |
| SHIFT + MUTE + press | LP LHS col 9 | Reset: all 16 steps → 5 (row 6, the velocity identity ×1.0) |
shift+mute |
| SHIFT + SOLO + press row R | LP grid | Randomise: all 16 steps gaussian around row R (clamped to rows 1–8) | shift+solo |
| SHIFT + SOLO + press | LP LHS col 9 | Randomise: all 16 steps uniform random across values 0–7 | shift+solo |
| Row-mode gestures | Row mutes | Row play-mode controls still apply (see “Row mode” in Trig view reference) | any |
