Step Duty

Purpose

Edit the per-step duty cycle (note length) of the selected sequencer. Each of the 16 steps stores a value 0–7, and that value indexes the sequencer’s own duty curve into the locked 16-entry note-length palette. On the shipped curve the eight rows are:

Row Value Note length
1 (bottom) 0 1/64 (0.25× a step)
2 1 1/32 (0.5×)
3 2 1/16T (0.667×)
4 3 1/32. (0.75×)
5 4 1/16 (1.0×: one whole step, the identity)
6 5 1/8T (1.333×)
7 6 1/16. (1.5×)
8 (top) 7 1/8 (2.0×)

The curve is per-sequencer and editable, so a row can be pointed at any of the 16 palette entries, up to 1/1 (see Arp curves).

Interaction

Columns are steps (LHS = 1–8, RHS = 9–16), rows are values (row 1 bottom = 0 … row 8 top = 7). Each step lights a single pad at the height of its stored value, not a bar filled from the bottom; a positioner colour marks the playing step, and columns whose step carries a trig are shaded slate behind the contour. Pressing a pad writes that row’s value to that step instantly. No modifier needed.
