Chord Edit (Voicing Mask)
Purpose
While the chord progression decides which chord plays each bar, chord edit decides which of that chord’s 8 scale-row notes each sequencer actually plays. A sequencer driving a bass can play just the root while one driving a pad synth plays all eight rows.
Interaction
8×8 grid split into per-sequencer columns of 8 rows. Pressing a pad toggles whether that scale row contributes to the built chord for that sequencer (lit = contributing). Both players see the same view and write to the same shared masks.
Shortcuts
| Gesture | Where | Action | Modifiers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press a pad | LP grid | Toggle that scale row on/off in the sequencer’s chord voicing | none |
| SHIFT + MUTE / SHIFT + SOLO | LP grid | No-op: deliberately excluded from reset/randomise | any |
