Swing
Purpose
Delay every second step of a sequencer’s pattern by a fraction of one step to produce shuffle. Counted as the trig view labels them, the delayed steps are the even-numbered ones (2, 4, 6 …). Each sequencer has a coarse row-selected level (row 1 = straight, row 8 = half a step) plus a fine offset that interpolates toward the next coarse level. Which steps swing is one 16-step pattern shared by every sequencer; no control on the hardware or in the webapp edits it.
Interaction
The grid shows each sequencer’s current swing level; column = sequencer (LHS cols 1–7 → sequencers 1–7, RHS cols 1–7 → sequencers 9–15), row = coarse level. A single pad lights at the level’s height rather than a bar, and its colour reports the fine offset: spring green at fine 0, then paler blues as the fine knob climbs. Column 8 of each LP stays dark, because it would land on the LC page sequencers, which have no swing.
Pressing a pad also aims the fine knob at that sequencer. The knob is bottom-row knob 8 on your own LaunchControl, whichever user template you are on, and its LED ring shows the fine value it is about to change. On entering the view it aims at the last sequencer you were on, and if there isn’t one it does nothing until you press a pad.
Shortcuts
| Gesture | Where | Action | Modifiers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press | LP grid | Set the pressed column’s sequencer to the pressed row’s coarse swing level, and aim the fine knob at it | none |
| Turn knob | LC bottom-row knob 8 | Fine offset 0–127 for the aimed sequencer, interpolating toward the next coarse level | any |
| SHIFT + MUTE + press | LP grid | Reset that slot: level → row 1 (straight), fine → 0 | shift+mute |
| SHIFT + SOLO + press | LP grid | Randomise that slot: level → uniform random across rows 1–8 (fine untouched) | shift+solo |
| SHIFT + MUTE / SOLO | Row mutes | No-op on this view | any |
